Fort Worth's in-town neighborhoods and newer subdivisions spreading west sit on the same deep expansive clay that defines the Dallas area, and that clay moves more than the asphalt on top of it. When spring rains swell the ground and summer drought pulls it back, driveways crack, settle, and heave, and the damage has nothing to do with ice or snow. Dallas Asphalt Paving has been serving Fort Worth and the surrounding area since 2012, and we know exactly what that clay does to a driveway.
Whether you own a Tudor or Craftsman home in the M Streets, a mid-century ranch in the older neighborhoods, or a newer subdivision lot west toward Weatherford, the paving problems are the same: edge cracking, alligatoring, rutting where the surface has softened in the heat, and water running toward the garage or foundation when the pitch fails. We repair and replace driveways, resurface parking lots, and handle private roads and HOA projects across Fort Worth and the Dallas area. Call us at (469) 949-4815 for a free on-site estimate.
Asphalt Paving in Fort Worth (76164)
Fort Worth driveways fail for one reason above all others: expansive clay. The ground swells when it's wet and shrinks when it dries, and that movement cracks and settles asphalt faster than freeze-thaw ever could. In the M Streets and near the bluffs, many lots are narrow and steep, with single ribbon driveways running back toward the slope. Across the mid-century belt, lots are wider and driveways longer, often poured decades ago and now showing the wear of decades of wet-dry cycles. Newer subdivisions west of the city sit on the same clay and move the same way. Hot mix asphalt is the right material for this climate and this subgrade, and proper base preparation, correct thickness, and good drainage are what make it last.
We've been paving driveways, parking lots, and private roads in Fort Worth and the Dallas area for over a decade. We know the soil, the seasonal patterns, and the local permitting rules. Our team is fully insured, and we provide written estimates with tonnage and thickness specifications so you know exactly what you're paying for.

How a Job Works in Fort Worth
We start with a free on-site visit. We measure your driveway or lot, assess the base and drainage, look at how water moves off the property, and talk through what's actually wrong and what will actually fix it. If you're in an HOA community, we'll help you understand what approval you need. If your project touches the street or involves a curb cut or apron, we'll walk you through the local permit process with the City of Fort Worth. We give you a written estimate that spells out square footage, thickness, tonnage, and price, so there are no surprises.
On the day of the work, we mill out the old surface if needed, prepare and proof-roll the base, set the grade for proper drainage, and lay hot mix asphalt at the thickness your job requires. We bring in a paver and a roller, and we work the crew and equipment carefully on tight lots and narrow driveways. When we're done, we sweep up, haul away all debris, and walk the property with you to make sure everything is right. New asphalt should cure for six to twelve months before any sealing, so we'll give you guidance on that timeline too.
A new asphalt driveway in Fort Worth typically runs from $6 per square foot on up, depending on the base condition, thickness, and site access. Resurfacing an existing driveway costs less, starting around $4 per square foot. Repairs, pothole patching, and spot work start at $450 and up. A full driveway replacement, which includes milling out the old surface and rebuilding the base if needed, runs from $7 per square foot. For parking lots, we provide free commercial estimates. The real cost drivers are square footage, how much base work the subgrade needs, whether we're milling and removing old asphalt, and site access for our equipment. We'll give you a firm price after we visit and measure. Call us at (469) 949-4815 for a free estimate, and we'll walk you through the options and what each one costs.
