Dallas driveways sit on deep black clay over Austin Chalk limestone, and that geology is everything. Spring rains swell the clay, summer heat above 100 degrees shrinks it back, and the result is the edge cracks, alligatoring, and settlement you see across the M Streets, Lakewood, Oak Cliff, and the mid-century ranch belt of North and East Dallas. Dallas Asphalt Paving has been serving Dallas and the surrounding area since 2012, and we know exactly how to build a driveway or parking lot that holds up to that cycle.
Whether your narrow Tudor drive in Oak Cliff is cracking where the clay has heaved, your long North Dallas ranch driveway is rutted from summer heat, or your parking lot has failed after years of that wet-dry swing, we show up local, measure on site, and explain what's wrong and what it costs to fix. No door-to-door pitches, no leftover-asphalt stories, no pressure. Just honest work and a written estimate with tonnage and thickness specs.
Asphalt Paving in Dallas (75246)
Dallas paving is not a generic problem. The expansive black clay that underlies the city from Oak Cliff north through the ranch belt and into Collin and Denton counties moves with the seasons. A driveway built without proper base preparation and grading will crack and settle as that clay swells in wet spring and pulls back in drought. Narrow sloped lots in the M Streets and Lakewood call for tight access and careful grade work. Longer double driveways in North and East Dallas often need resurfacing where the original pour, laid decades ago, has failed at the edges and through the middle. Parking lots in Dallas routinely show rutting and shoving where the surface has been soft in peak summer heat and vehicles have tracked load into the asphalt.
We build driveways and parking lots for this climate and this soil. That means a compacted base, proper pitch for drainage away from the house or building, and hot mix asphalt laid to spec and thickness. It means understanding that the rare winter ice storm and spring hail are real but secondary to the clay itself. We have served Dallas homeowners and property managers since 2012, and our crews know the neighborhoods, the lot layouts, and the drainage challenges that define this city.

How a Job Works in Dallas
We start with a free on-site assessment. We measure your driveway or lot, look at the base and drainage, walk the property to understand access and any HOA restrictions, and talk through what you've seen fail. We explain whether the job calls for a patch, a resurfacing, or a full replacement, and we give you a written estimate with tonnage and thickness specs so you know exactly what you're paying for.
The work itself varies by job. A driveway repair might be a single afternoon. A full resurfacing takes longer and requires careful milling and base prep, especially if the lot is tight or the grade is difficult. We coordinate with your HOA if required, and we help you understand any permit or curb-cut requirements from the City of Dallas or your local municipality. Our crews are fully insured with general liability and workers' compensation.
When the work is done, we clean the property, haul away debris, and walk through with you to make sure the job is right. New asphalt needs time to cure and should not be sealed for the first six to twelve months, and we'll tell you that straight up even though it means you're not spending more money with us right away.
Pricing for driveway and parking lot work in Dallas depends on square footage, the condition of the base, access for equipment, and the thickness and type of asphalt. A new driveway typically runs from $6 per square foot, resurfacing from $4 per square foot, and recycled asphalt millings from $3 per square foot. Repairs start at $450 for pothole or patch work, and parking lot resurfacing from $650. A full driveway replacement, gravel installation, or private road project requires an on-site estimate because the variables are too many to quote by phone. We offer free estimates for parking lots. Call us at (469) 949-4815 with photos and measurements if you want a ballpark, or schedule a walk-through and we'll give you a firm written price.
